From start to finish, the collaboration between 9elements and bonamic was defined by close teamwork, clear communication, and a shared vision: to quickly deliver a modern, accessible website that authentically represents bonamic.
We built the site using the static site generator 11ty, ensuring not only swift performance but also the flexibility to refine and tailor each component. This approach allowed us to implement a range of technical enhancements without sacrificing speed. On top of that, we integrated DatoCMS so that bonamic’s team could efficiently manage content—even just days into the project.
Working with 9elements was exactly what we’d hoped for: reliable, proactive, and on the mark. Their expertise is first-rate, and they’re a pleasure to work with on a personal level. The end result convinced us—and many others.
Carolin Feth, Head of Marketing & PR at bonamic Accessibility took center stage at every step. By optimizing color contrasts, ensuring keyboard navigation, and designing clear content hierarchies for screen readers, we created a digital experience that everyone can enjoy. We also refined the existing corporate design, extending it visually and adapting it to meet rigorous accessibility standards.
Beyond the core functionality, some standout features include AI-assisted magazine summaries and native CSS scroll animations applied with progressive enhancement. These elements enhance engagement and streamline the editorial process without burdening older browsers or relying on large JavaScript libraries.
Through our role in design, development, and ongoing support, we provided bonamic with a fast, functional, and elegantly designed website. From the first briefing to the final deployment, we collaborated closely to achieve a launch that reflects bonamic’s core values—and we’re delighted to see it live for the world to experience.
