New Zealand Birds Online is a searchable encyclopaedia of over 400 New Zealand birds. It's a valued resource for anyone interested in our unique birdlife. The search function provides users easy access to written content, audio of bird sounds and an extensive photographic library with over 13,000 images.

About the project

Working directly alongside our client, New Zealand's national museum Te Papa Tongarewa, we rebuilt this website without making major changes to the design or layout.

The re-platform mitigated growing technical debt issues they had on their existing platform, ensuring the security and stability of the website for years to come. The re-platform has made content management much easier and more efficient. This work was part of a wider project that also included re-building Te Papa's flagship website www.tepapa.govt.nz.
